I LOVE HAM RADIO!
Ham Radio Sitings in the Media
Hi! I'm Michelle, AA6MW, an Amateur Extra Radio Operator. I have been a ham for 9 years now.
I have always loved TV, movies, computers, the Internet and technology. One of my favorite activities is finding references to amateur radio or two way radio in the media! This website combines my major loves!
(Including my hubby which you can find in various pictures Think of "Where's Waldo?", except instead, "Where's George?" (not www.wheresgeorge.com of which am also also a memeber. lol! or hi hi!).
LATEST HAM NEWS
Due to COVID-19 Local clubs in person events are cancelled! BARC, MDARC etc.
It is a good time to get on the air! Also a great time to stream and see all the shows with ham radio in them or referenced in them!
Recent Featured Radio Technology Reference in the Media:
Doctor Who (2015)(Peter Capaldi , Jenna Coleman)
"Before the Flood", where the Doctor and his companion find a planet of people dying and becoming "ghost transmitters" or beacons sending distress calls into space. The way the doctor and Clara are safe from these frequency transmitter, killer ghosts, is by staying inside of a Faraday cage. Morse Code is also mentioned. Very creative!
