New to Ham Radio?
If you are interested or new to Ham Radio you should Join a local Ham radio club!
Once you're involved in a local club:
Each year in June there is ARRL Field Day. Clubs host this great weekend-long event as a contest to hone Ham's skills, and as an introduction for the community and new operators to Ham Radio.
A lot of other hobbies "Mix" well with Ham radio.
I do the soundboard for my church, and as Bob Heil from "Ham Nation'", knows this can have lots of crossover opportunities. On one "Ham Nation" episode he demonstrated how to attach a mixer to help your sound on your radio. Many hobbies and extraculcular activities crossover well with Ham radio. It often helps to find a ham radio store and hang out there to find out more about the hobby. When my hubby and I went on vacation We visited the Ham Radio Outlet in Anaheim, and talked with this ultra helpful Salesman. We learned a lot!
